Karma Bus backs over Dragons as Raiders' season rolls on
With Ricky Stuart watching on from purgatory the rugby league gods shone benevolently upon the Raiders who kept their season alive with three seconds on the clock in Canberra.
Well.
How about that.
Can’t do it easily, can they? Can’t just turn a 12-point lead into an 18 point lead before crushing the life from their enemies.
Can’t be six points up with four minutes to play and slot a field goal so that we all may breathe with the season on the line against angry Dragons.
No.
Instead, they keep it ‘interesting’.
Instead they test our love.
Instead, with three seconds on the clock and the season hanging by the gossamer thread of a daddy longlegs leg, they leave it to Corey Harawira-Naiea to roll the dice.
See it: St George Illawarra Dragons winger Mathew Feagai had bolted 60 metres down field before he was tackled by Tom Starling and Harawira-Naera.
The Dragons were coming with him, streaming down to keep the play alive.
