Milk Flowing Like Fine Wine

Author gives book update: it's going grouse. Plus: Another extract leaked.

Good day to you.

Just a little sports update (and extract) on Project X: The Milk, the book about forty years of fandom for these our Canberra Raiders … and the short sports update is this: it’s going very well, digging up loads of fun little yarns, and banging on about Important Things, and very much enjoying the research-writing-and-repeat process.

And while the 80,000 words are not writing themselves - because who would want that, it’s the stuff of tech-bot madness - they are flowing quite nicely for the copy deadline of January 31.

Following that there’ll be six weeks of proof-reading, sub-editing, fact-checking, printing and publicity before Launch at Pub TBA in the fine city of Canberra come the afternoon of Sunday March 6.

And all that week will be The Milk week, as we build up to the Friday night footy match at dear old Bruce Stadium on March 11 versus Cronulla Sutherland Sharks.

This is The Plan.

Plenty left to write, though, and still very much after any hits and memories anyone has of games, moments, Brushes with Fame, and all that, so email matt@mattcleary.com if there’s anything you’d add to a 40-year memoir of fandom for our Green Machine.
