The Milk, the book, the launch
"The Milk: Forty years of the Canberra Raiders in 20 games" will be published in March. To help kickstart the project - and receive a signed and posted copy - read on and weep green tears of joy.
Nation!
Good day.
Have launched a Kickstarter project to get The Milk, the book about 40 years of these our Canberra Raiders, up and going.
Several levels of support available, each which come with a Reward.
And most of those Rewards include a signed and posted copy of the very book being kickstarted.
You could call it a bit like buying off the plan - except it’s money back if we don’t raise the $10k for printing, postage, proof-reading, branding, marketing, publicity and sundry expenses such as food, which is important.
Bottom line it’ll be an enjoyable read, and unlike buying off the plan, it will look great on paper and be great - on paper!
Worse case: money back.
All the info about the contents are at the Project page. Effectively the book will be 20 chapters of around 4000 words, revolving around 20 great games from club history.
Interviews with all the key players, coaches, administrators, journalists, referees, fans and sundry types such as Steve Mavin who was hooked from the SCG in ‘87, for example.
There’ll be heaps of good old yarns, some re-told, some never told before. Looking forward to hearing about a certain fishing escapade a few fellows have referenced, along with some untold yarns of post-89 grand final hijinks.
Note: If you’re a Founding Member you’re already good for a copy, and thanks again.
Otherwise, click here to read all about it and get verily amongst it!
Any questions, gimme a holler.
Cheers, Matt
